TCU Police officers possess the same police powers as municipal police officers.  All TCU Police officers complete specialized training to better understand the nature of policing on a private university campus.

Department Compliments and Complaints

The TCU Police Department is committed to providing the highest quality of service to the students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the University. In order to be responsive to the community’s needs, it is necessary to have citizen input. Your constructive comments about our service, will help us to improve and achieve our goals. Therefore, if you believe that you have been subjected to police misconduct of any type, you are encouraged to report the incident to the TCU Police Department. We also appreciate any compliments you may want to share, for the exemplary service you received by our staff.

Compliments and Complaints may be submitted in person, over the telephone, online, or by email. However, pursuant to Texas Government Code 614.022, complaints must be in writing and signed by the person making the complaint.

The Criminal Investigation Section investigates incidents of alleged misconduct or violations of the department’s policies or procedures.
The Criminal Investigations Section will NOT investigate complaints regarding the validity of a parking citation or the appropriateness of any charges filed in connection with a police investigation. The appropriate venue to dispute parking citations/charges is the court of record, or the TCU Parking & Transportation office, located at the main entrance of the police department at 3025 Lubbock Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas.

To file a compliment or a complaint:
Compliments and complaints may be filed 24 hours a day, seven days a week in-person at the TCU Police Department: 3025 Lubbock Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76109, over the phone, online, or by email.

In-Person:
Request to speak with the Operations Division Commander, or the on-duty Supervisor if the Operations Division Commander is unavailable.
Relay the circumstances of the compliment or complaint to the supervisor.
Complete and sign a written statement (if applicable).

By Phone:
Call the police department at 817-257-7777.
