Date Rape Drugs

Date rape drugs can be used to facilitate a personal crime against you.  These powerful drugs can be slipped into your drink when you are not looking.  The drugs often have no color, odor, or taste, and can make you feel weak and confused.  These drugs, if given enough, can cause unconsciousness and memory loss.  Date Rape Drugs are used on both females and males.

Alcohol can be considered a date rape drug, and is the drug most commonly used to help commit sexual assault.  When a person drinks too much alcohol (knowingly or unknowingly):

  • It’s harder to think clearly.
  • It’s harder to set limits and make good choices.
  • It’s harder to tell when a situation could be dangerous.
  • It’s harder to say “no” to sexual advances.
  • It’s harder to fight back if someone makes unwanted sexual advances.
  • It’s possible to black out and to have memory loss.

THESE ARE THE SAME INDICATORS THAT YOU MAY HAVE BEEN DRUGGED.

If you feel that you may have ingested an unwanted substance, contact law enforcement immediately.
